Idli Batter

The correct way of Making idli batter can be a little confusing with too many methods and recipes available on net.There are some steps that have be taken care while making the batter.

Ingredients

Par Boiled Rice- 4 cups

Urad dhal -1 cup

Fenugreek Seeds- 1 teaspoon

Method

Soak the Rice for 6 Hours.

Soak the Urad dhal along with fenugreek seeds for only 2 Hours.

Grind the Urad dhal for a minimum of 1/2 hr by adding water little by little until it becomes fluffy.

Grind the Rice for about 20 minutes until soft.

Mix both with some salt and ferment the batter for 10 hrs.
