Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • Flour – 1 cup
  • Room Temperature Butter – 3/4 of a Stick
  • Sugar – Little less than 3/4 cup
  • Egg – 2
  • Baking powder- 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Orange Zest – 1 Teaspoon
  • Orange Juice – 1/4 cup
  • Vanilla Essence – 1 Teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/4 Teaspoon

Method

  1. Sift the dry ingredients (flour ,salt and baking powder) to avoid any lumps and keep it aside.
  2. Beat the room temperature butter and sugar using handmixer or electric mixer.
  3. Add the eggs one by one and continue to mix for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add the dry ingredients little by little and mix till everything incorporates.
  5. Add the orange juice,orange zest and vanilla essence and mix for another minute until everything blends.
  6. Pour the mixture in a greased pan.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350 Deg F. Bake the cake for about 25 minutes.
  8. Check on it by inserting a knife.If it comes clean the cake is done.

Note : Time may vary from 20 to 30 minutes depending on the oven’s performance.
